Fast forward a mere 14 months: “Young Dumb & Broke” has over a half billion Youtube views and “Eastside,” by Benny Blanco, Halsey and Khalid, is #1 on the Top 40 chart (and #5 Adult Top 40).
Khalid won “Best New Artist” at 2017’s MTV Video Music Awards; in 2018 he was named “Top New Artist” at the Billboard Music Awards and “Top New R&B Artist” at the iHeart Radio Music Awards.
His smooth and silky solo hit, “Better,” is charting top five on the Rhythmic Top 40 chart. Here’s a line:
