He’s been rockin’ us for 40+ years, and we love him for it and today Sammy Hagar, aka “The Red Rocker,” turns 70-years old.
From his early days in the 70s with the band Montrose to joining Van Halen in the 80’s and then a solo career that generated his biggest hit single, 1984’s “I Can’t Drive 55,” he’s never slowed down.
His 2011 autobiography “Red: My Uncensored Life In Rock”co-written by San Francisco rock critic and author Joel Selvin, was a New York Times Best seller, and generated praise for its honesty.
Though we don’t have confirmation, there just might be a celebration at his Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas Mexico this weekend?
Happy 70th Sammy Hagar, we couldn’t have made it this far without you.
Note to readers: I LOVED listening to this song—made my day—a real upper—I hope it makes you smile and rock, too.
