If it seems like Sting has been around forever, it’s because he almost has–it was 1978 –38 years ago– when The Police burst on the music and culture scene with “Roxanne.” Back then, the oldest Boomer was 32 and Sting, who just turned 65-years old last month, was 27!

“I Can’t Stop Thinking About You” is familiar Sting: a sophisticated lament about a woman who did a number on his heart.  It’s already #3 on the Adult Alternative chart.

His newest isn’t the caliber of “Roxanne” or “Every Breath You Take,” but that’s OK, because most songs are not as memorable as those two, yet we love them anyway.

Sting will perform “I Can’t Stop Thinking About You” on the American Music Awards, next Sunday (11/20) on ABC.  Despite his fame and longevity, this will be his first performance on that show.
