On Sunday night, the ersatz Academy of Country Music hosts their 54th Annual Awards show, live from Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena, 8p EST.

“Reba” will host; the nominees include the usual suspects; the show’s performers are stars old & new, hotties & has beens, famous & unknowns, perennials and wanna-bes.

Team Sony’s Luke Combs is just now making Billboard magazine history by topping all five Country charts for a third non-consecutive week: Top Album, Hot Country Songs, Country Airplay, Country Streaming Songs and Country Digital Song Sales.  (Dated March 9, March 30, and April 6.)

Combs will perform and is also nominated in two categories, “Male Artist Of The Year” and “New Male Artist Of The Year.”  His “Beautiful Crazy” has been #1 on Billboard’s Top Country chart six-weeks-in-row, and has gone 2xs platinum.

In addition to performing, Jason Aldean, who’s had 20 Billboard #1s, will accept the “Artist Of The Decade” award, plus he’s nominated for “Entertainer of the Year,” an honor that he won last year–for the third year running.  His current album, “Rearview Town,” has already generated three number one hits.

Award presenters range from Dennis Quaid and Danica Patrick to Blake Shelton and Keith Urban.
