Seattle hip hop rapper superstar Macklemore, who is 34-years old, made a video of his surprise visit to his grandmother on her 100th birthday, then set it to a song called “Glorious” which is not only uplifting and fun to listen to, it’s also wise, insightful, and self aware.
Macklemore flew to CA, showed up at grandma’s front door, announced “today is your day” and off they went in a vintage convertible on a California fun-spree, driving along the beach, watching a sunset/sunrise, discovering new food, playing pinball, dancing, singing.
The song’s title says it all: It’s glorious…thanks in part to singer /songwriter/vocalist Skylar Grey’s catchy chorus, which captures the joyous nature of the melody.
I feel glorious, glorious
Got a chance to start again
I was born for this, born for this
It’s who I am, how could I forget?
I made it through the darkest part of the night
And now I see the sunrise
Now I feel glorious, glorious
I feel glorious, glorious
The marvelous video is a touching expression of familial love, and so much more.
Macklemore is one-half of the duo Maklemore and Ryan Lewis.
