Motown had its “Funk Brothers” and the West Coast its “Wrecking Crew”– the session playing super-musicians who contributed and helped craft many of the major pop hits of the 60’s and early 70’s.
Now, it’s time for another group of rock’s premiere, all star-session players to have their moment: guitarists Danny Kortchmar and Waddy Wachtel, drummer Russ Kunkel, bass player Leland Sklar and fellow Los Angeleno singer/songwriter, producer, composer and guitarist Steve Postell are officially a band: “The Immediate Family”– and they’re planning an Oct. EP release.
These guys are legends–they played on dozens of classic albums–Linda Ronstadt, David Crosby, Don Henley, Graham Nash, James Taylor, Carole King, Jackson Browne, to name just a few.
