Lou Simon, the host of Sirius XM’s “the Diner,” a weekly talk show that talks all about music, recently shared that his personal favorite album of all time is “Ram,” the 1971 classic that was Paul McCartney’s second solo release after The Beatles break-up—a collection that broke musical rules and displayed McCartney’s remarkable originality.

To honor the album on its 50th anniversary, Denny Seiwell, who played drums on the original, has collaborated with producer/guitarist/keyboardist Fernando Perdomo to release “Ram 2” a reboot from start to finish, with each song performed in exactly the same order.

Numerous singers and players, some from the original recording session(s), contributed to “Ram On: The 50th Anniversary Tribute to Paul & Linda McCartney’s Ram.”

It’s out now as a CD, with a possible vinyl edition to follow.

And…
… congratulations to Lou, because today celebrates his 7th year hosting “The Diner:” 7P EDT/4P Pacific, later today on Sirius/XM’s Channel Volume 106.
